"Hoot" the movie

This a great movie about the Burrowing Owl.

Three kids have an unexpected adventure as they try to protect some rare birds (Burring Owl). A 14-year-old boy Roy moves to Gulf Coast of Florida and is befriended by Beatrice Leep a spunky girl with her brother Mullet. They share their big secret with Roy -- they have a hidden hideaway where they look after a flock of wild owls.

The owls in question are on the endangered species list, but a top executive is planning to build a new restaurant in the hollow where the owls nest. Roy, Beatrice, and Mullet are determined to find a way to save the owls.

This is my first of many birding events with the Canon D60 this year, I have increase my list of birds that i have taken. I will be adding atleast 30 or more new birds. Currently i have 247 different birds in my collection !

Well I can rest for awhile, I have posted 36 new birds from my Tucson trip. There is now 389 different bird photos on this blog. Tweety turns 68 (1942-2010)

Bob Clampett created the character that would become Tweety in the 1942 short A Tale of Two Kitties, pitting him against two hungry cats named Babbit and Catstello (based on the famous comedians Abbott and Costello).

Wildlife (Note on Hummingbirds)

I have managed to capture through the lens, 7 varieties of hummingbirds. They are the most challaging to take pictures of because of their speed. What I love is to see if I can capture their colours as the sun hits them. Where the tiny feathers seem to be black can turn out to be red, blue, or even purple in colour.

I had a chance to go to the Hummingbird Aviary at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. This was fantastic and well recomended to any hummingbird lover. Contact me and I will freely send you the Museum's guide to maintaining hummingbirds in your back yard.

Well I'm Back from Arizona and have found 35 new birds to add. First I have discovered errors in some posting here. The Goldfinch and the Lesser Goldfinch, which is divided into two varieties. I will fix them first and then start adding my 35 newbies. photo taken at Ried Zoo

Laze about

I am going to Tucson, Arizona for a month so I will be updateing in April. Just have to "Laze about" till I get back. I will be going with camera in hand to add some wonders to this blog. I also hope I will capture many more different birds and wildlife to add.
